Nordeka™ by Green Plank is a premium Solid Composite Deck Profile created for customers who love the warm, exclusive appearance of tropical hardwood but want the practical advantages of modern composite decking.
Made with approximately 65–70% beech hardwood fibre, combined with prime HDPE or selected European-sourced recycled HDPE (rHDPE) and functional additives from Europe and/or the USA, Nordeka™ delivers a substantial, natural feel with 100% traceability of declared raw materials.
The solid 150 × 19 mm profile weighs approximately 3.4 kg per linear metre and features a reversible design, giving architects, installers and homeowners two surface options in one board.
Nordeka™ is designed to bring warmth and natural character to terraces, balconies, gardens, hospitality spaces and architectural outdoor projects.
Rather than trying to look artificially uniform, the surface has a wood-inspired character with subtle texture and natural-looking colour. Following outdoor exposure, a small and gradual colour evolution may occur, helping the decking develop a more natural appearance similar to the visual character associated with timber.
For customers who want a terrace with the appearance of premium hardwood without routine painting, staining or oiling, Nordeka™ offers an attractive alternative.
Nordeka™ is a solid profile measuring 150 mm wide × 19 mm thick and weighing approximately 3.4 kg/LM.
The solid cross-section gives the board a substantial feel underfoot and makes Nordeka™ suitable for selected residential and professional decking applications when installed according to the applicable technical requirements.
Unlike lightweight hollow decking, this Solid Composite Deck Profile has been developed to provide a more substantial material feel while maintaining the benefits of composite technology.
Approximately 65–70% of the Nordeka™ formulation consists of beech hardwood fibre. The natural fibre is combined with HDPE and carefully selected functional additives to create a balanced Wood-Plastic Composite material.
Depending on the product specification, the polymer component can be prime HDPE or selected European-sourced recycled HDPE. Functional additives are sourced from Europe and/or the USA.
Performance depends on the complete formulation – including fibre quality, polymer quality, coupling technology, stabilisation, processing and profile design – rather than the percentage of wood fibre alone.
Nordeka™ provides 100% traceability of declared raw materials for the applicable product specification.
This gives architects, contractors, distributors and professional buyers greater transparency regarding the origin of the hardwood fibre, polymer and functional additives used in the product.
Nordeka™ features a reversible profile, providing greater design flexibility from a single decking board.
One side incorporates fine anti-slip ribs designed to provide additional surface grip and good slip-resistance characteristics. The reverse side offers a different surface character, allowing the appearance of the terrace to be adapted to the project design.
Where a project requires a specific slip-resistance classification, the exact performance should be confirmed against the applicable test documentation for the selected Nordeka™ surface.
For applicable Nordeka™ systems, the boards can be installed using plastic or steel clips together with European-made screws.
The concealed fixing concept creates a clean finished surface without rows of visible screws across the main face of the decking.
Clip type, screw specification, expansion allowance and installation method should follow the current Nordeka™ installation instructions.
For many conventional Nordeka™ applications, joist spacing can be specified at up to 400 mm centre-to-centre (c/c).
Selected Nordeka™ systems and project configurations may be designed for up to 600 mm c/c where this is specifically supported by the profile specification, application, loading requirements and current technical documentation.
The 600 mm spacing should not be treated as universal. Commercial areas, concentrated loads, diagonal installation and other demanding applications may require closer support spacing.
| Installation | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Typical applications | Up to 400 mm c/c where specified |
| Selected engineered systems | Up to 600 mm c/c where technically documented |
| Diagonal installation | Closer joist spacing normally required |
| Board ends | Each end must be adequately supported |
| Butt joints | Double/separate joists may be required |
| Heavy-load areas | Additional support and project-specific assessment may be required |
Nordeka™ is available in five standard colours inspired by natural wood and contemporary outdoor architecture.
For qualifying projects and quantities, the Solid Composite Deck Profile can be produced in four additional colours, giving architects and designers greater freedom to coordinate decking with façades, landscaping, furniture and the overall architectural theme.
This makes Nordeka™ particularly attractive for projects where decking is considered part of the complete design rather than simply a floor surface.
Nordeka™ has been developed with demanding Nordic conditions in mind, including seasonal changes in temperature and moisture.
Correct installation remains essential. Adequate drainage, ventilation, expansion allowances, appropriate joist spacing and correct fastening all contribute to long-term performance. Standing or trapped water should be avoided.
Nordeka™ normally requires no routine painting, staining or oiling. Regular cleaning to remove dirt, leaves and organic deposits is generally sufficient for normal care.
This reduced maintenance requirement is one of the key advantages for homeowners, hospitality operators and commercial property owners who want the appearance of wood without the recurring surface-treatment routine associated with many natural timber products.
Nordeka™ is developed as a long-life Solid Composite Deck Profile. Selected products and systems can be offered with a warranty of up to 25 years, subject to product specification, application, correct installation and current Green Plank warranty terms.
The actual service life of any decking system depends on installation quality, loading, support spacing, ventilation, drainage, climate and ongoing care.
Nordeka™ is developed with a focus on natural fibre, efficient material use, long service life and a lower CO₂ footprint. Specifications using European-sourced rHDPE also make use of recycled polymer resources.
Specific environmental or comparative CO₂ claims for professional projects should be supported by applicable product-specific LCA, EPD or equivalent environmental documentation.
